This market-leading packaging company supplies UN approved and food grade plastic, glass and tinplate packaging to a wide range of industries including the catering, construction, chemical, solvent, lubricant, resin, paint, agricultural, janitorial and toiletry trades. Its product range includes bottles, jars, tubs, buckets, open top kegs, jerrycans and bulk containers as well as steel and tinplate drums and pails.
CHALLENGE – The broad range offered by the packaging company means it needs a dependable, competitive supply of packaging consumables to ensure it can reliably keep its promises to its customers. It was also in the planning process for new warehouse premises and wanted some expert advice about how best to cater for its myriad packaging requirements.
SOLUTION – A number of packaging suppliers were invited to tender and Clingfoil was successful on the basis of its packaging knowledge, competitive pricing and excellent customer service. Clingfoil now supplies a range of packaging consumables including tapes, shrink wrap and pallet wrap via a weekly stock take service that the company’s Purchasing Manager, finds especially useful.
They explain: “Clingfoil’s account manager comes in every week to review our stock levels and let me know exactly what needs replenishing. It really takes the pressure off me because if something as simple as box tape did run out, it could seriously disrupt our ability to fulfill orders.” Product quality has impressed too with the branded tapes Clingfoil supply significantly improving the look of packed boxes and bags.
The Clingfoil team provided invaluable advice to the packaging company for its new warehouse including arranging visits to other customer sites for ideas on the design and layout of packaging areas. Clingfoil also put them in touch with other suppliers (for example packaging table manufacturers) to ensure they made the most effective use of their fantastic new space.
Clingfoil is currently working on an alternative solution for glassware products and looks forward to working with the customer in other areas in future.
